Orebound - Anvil Update 2: Multiplayer
Fellow Dwarves, bring your clan to diggy hole together in Anvil Update 2: Multiplayer.
The long-anticipated multiplayer update is here! We heard you loud and clear, and we’re excited for you and your friends to explore the world of Orebound together. After months of hard-work and dedication, we can’t wait for you to try the new version of the game.
Currently, the multiplayer update is available for beta testers, but will be available to the public on Saturday 21st June 2025. Anyone who would like to get access to it early can use the code updatenow321.
Orebound Multiplayer Capabilities
Currently, up to 5 players are supported, allowing you and four friends to mine, go caving and build your automations.
Up to 10 players can play, however, this is currently experimental and will become fully supported in the future. Play at your own risk.
Play with either your Steam friends, or join public servers to help dwarves across the globe build a mining empire. Use custom settings to help shape your multiplayer experience.
Whether you decide to all work together on the same quest, or work on individual ones, different clan members can track different quests to help build your mining factory faster. Alternatively, if you fancy making the game harder, you can also disable the quest user interface in the settings to really test your knowledge of the game.
Multiplayer notifications have also been implemented, meaning you can bully your clan members when they die for a dumb reason 😉
In-Game Tweaks
On top of releasing multiplayer, we also took the time to amend different in-game UI and quality of life changes to help make the game more streamlined and easier to access.
Better Balanced Quests and Rewards
One of the most significant changes to the game is the rebalancing of quests to make them more achievable, and to give better quests rewards. This will help encourage natural progression in the game.
New UX For Main Menu
We have decided to update and improve the user interface for the main menu to help streamline the game for all users.
The Navigator - New UX Overhaul
The Navigator has also had an upgrade, which now shows improved outlines for all minable ores, making it easier to find the right ores. However, using the Navigator and the Compass now use mana, so you’ll have to be mindful of how you use these items!
Citadel Changes
To make the citadel more accessible and easier to explore, new carpets and signs have been added to help guide new players. There is also new added lore to the citadel - we hope you enjoy learning more about the world of Orebound!
In the near future, we will be continuing development to the Citadel to support multiplayer and to make it a stronger hub world. Stay tuned!
Graphics Improvements
We have also reworked some of the graphics for the main menu, smelter, build menu, blacksmith, and quest menu to help them stand out more.
